Ildem Demir is a CEMS Master in International Management candidate and MSc Business Engineering student at UCLouvain, with a background in economics and computer science from Bocconi University. Her interests lie at the intersection of financial regulation, taxation, and development finance, focusing on how regulatory and fiscal design shape capital allocation, market stability, and long-term growth. Her thesis examined how wealth tax design affects investment decisions, combining behavioural finance and optimal taxation theory with empirical data. She previously gained experience in market strategy at Procter & Gamble and in sustainability consulting, applying data-driven analysis to promote efficient, transparent, and inclusive markets.

Matteo Mio is an Italian student, raised between Italy and Switzerland, currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s in Economics and Politics at the LSE through Forward College’s international program. Passionate about innovation and social progress, he manifests his curiosities through reading, writing and debating, touching on topics such as the startup ecosystem or European technologic industries as well as general public policy and AI regulation.

Through his academic journey, he has studied in Lisbon, is currently based in Paris and is projected to finish his bachelor in Berlin. He is also working in Automations and AI integration consulting as part of a freelancing group and loves to discuss such topics with other professionals and interested individuals at events such as Web Summit, which he has attended in the past two editions and hosted a booth at.

When he is not studying or working, he can be found at the gym or football field, but also at any random jazz bar in Paris. He also enjoys having politically challenging conversations with friends (or strangers) and traveling to countries of which he does not speak the language.
